Ami Bera, M.D., a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 6th district since 2013, has recently used his social media platform to address several national and local issues, including U.S. foreign policy, economic concerns, and community engagement.

On January 18, 2026, Bera criticized the president’s approach to international relations in a post stating: “The people of Greenland must determine Greenland’s future. The president’s bullying tactics alienate our NATO allies, do nothing to advance our national interests, and will raise costs for us here at home. We must reassert congressional authority over tariffs to put an end to https://t.co/sn3WGKt4MB”.

In another post on January 19, 2026, Bera highlighted his team’s participation in a local event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: “Team Bera joined the Del Paso Heights community at Grant Union High School to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The program, march, and community resource fair brought our neighbors together to put Dr. King’s vision into action by connecting residents with https://t.co/aFViD9MyTT“.

Addressing economic matters on January 20, 2026, Bera posted: “The data proves Trump wrong. California families spent $2,355 more on average last year because of inflation fueled by Trump’s tariffs. The president needs to acknowledge reality and follow through on his promise to lower costs. https://t.co/ykq8U6sTJi”.

Ami Bera was born in Los Angeles in 1965 and currently resides in Elk Grove. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Irvine in 1987 before entering public service.
