Ami Bera, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 6th district since 2013, addressed topics ranging from vaccine misinformation to nuclear disarmament in a series of posts on his social media account this week.
On August 6, 2025, Bera responded to statements made by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. regarding mRNA vaccines. He wrote, “RFK Jr.’s claims about mRNA vaccines are not grounded in science. Ami Bera has served as a U.S. Representative for California’s 6th District since replacing Dan Lungren in 2013 and is known for his background as a physician and legislator with an interest in public health issues. Born in Los Angeles in 1965 and currently residing in Elk Grove, Bera graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987.
