Ami Bera, M.D., a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 6th district since 2013, posted several statements on December 16, 2025, addressing economic concerns and congressional ethics.

In a tweet from the afternoon of December 16, Bera wrote: “My constituents are struggling to keep up with rising costs fueled by this Administration’s tariffs. Many are spending the holidays worrying about whether they’ll be able to afford health care next year. These guys are completely out of touch.” (December 16, 2025)

Later that day, Bera addressed issues of congressional accountability and transparency. He stated: “Members of Congress should not profit from their positions or trade on info we may receive as part of our official duties. That’s why I signed @RepLuna’s discharge petition to force a vote on a congressional stock trading ban and help restore confidence in our government.” (December 16, 2025)

He also directed followers to read his full statement via another post: “Read my full statement https://t.co/GLFQXYeAgC” (December 16, 2025)
