Ami Bera, M.D., a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 6th district since 2013, reflected on his team’s efforts in Sacramento County and commented on international affairs in a series of posts as 2025 came to a close.
On January 1, 2026, Bera highlighted his office’s outreach and constituent services over the past year. In a post dated January 1, he stated: “As the clock winds down on 2025, I’m proud of the work my team and I have done to serve Sacramento County. We remained accessible and responsive throughout the year, answering more than 34,000 messages from constituents, holding five town halls, and helping over 4,000 Sacramento”.
Later that day, Bera extended holiday wishes to his community. On January 1 he wrote: “Happy New Year, Sacramento County! Wishing everyone a fabulous 2026.”
Turning to foreign policy on January 3, Bera addressed recent developments regarding Venezuela. He posted: “Nicolás Maduro is an illegitimate leader who has inflicted hardship on the people of Venezuela. I hope this moment leads to a real democratic transition driven by the Venezuelan people. But the decision to launch military strikes without congressional input, support, or”.
Ami Bera has represented California’s 6th District in Congress since replacing Dan Lungren in 2013. Born in Los Angeles in 1965 and currently residing in Elk Grove, Bera graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987.
