Assemblymember Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) recognized the Coachella Valley High School girls’ soccer team on May 2 for their notable and historic season, which ended with their appearance in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Championship.

During a special ceremony in the City of Coachella, players were awarded keys to the city to celebrate their achievement and the pride they brought to the community. Gonzalez also presented an official resolution from the California State Assembly honoring their accomplishment.

The team’s unprecedented run to the CIF State Championship marked one of the most successful seasons in school history and earned them recognition throughout the region. Gonzalez praised student-athletes, coaches, and families for their dedication and for representing Coachella Valley with excellence both on and off the field.
