Congressman Brad Sherman, who has represented California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress since 1997, recently addressed several international and domestic issues on his social media account.
On August 31, 2025, Sherman posted a statement concerning recent events in Yemen: “Israel did not kill the Prime Minister of Yemen. The Houthi are not the government of Yemen – they are a terrorist organization that is occupying Yemen and terrorizes ships of all nations in the Red Sea.”
Later that day, Sherman highlighted security concerns faced by Jewish institutions globally. In his post dated August 31, 2025, he stated: “The reality of 2025: every Jewish institution everywhere in the world is a target. Jewish institutions now spend more money on security than hiring teachers, providing daycare or counseling the bereaved. We clearly need more funds for nonprofit security grants.”
On September 1, 2025, marking Labor Day, Sherman acknowledged workers’ contributions and reiterated his support for labor rights: “On #LaborDay we celebrate the achievements of the labor movement and the resilience of workers everywhere. As a member of the @Labor_Caucus, I’ll never stop supporting hardworking Americans in the fight for better wages, benefits and working conditions.”
Sherman has been active in public service since succeeding Anthony Beilenson in Congress nearly three decades ago. Born in Los Angeles in 1954 and currently residing in Sherman Oaks, he holds degrees from UCLA and Harvard University.
