Congressman Brad Sherman, who represents California’s 32nd district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from military safety to international humanitarian concerns.

On August 6, 2025, Sherman responded to an incident at Fort Stewart by stating: “Tragic news out of Fort Stewart. My heart is with the victims, their families and all our service members who should never have to fear for their safety while on a U.S. military base.”

Two days later, on August 8, he commented on the situation in Gaza: “The ongoing hunger crisis in Gaza is tragic, and all must come together to reverse it immediately. See my full statement:”

Later that same day, Sherman addressed developments in Iran involving political prisoners: “Five #Iranian political prisoners sentenced-to-death have been moved to a notorious prison: Akbar (Shahrokh) Daneshvarkar, Babak Alipour, Mohammad Taghavi Sangdehi, Pouya Ghobadi & Vahid Bani Amerian. These individuals are respected professionals and former political prisoners”.

Sherman has served in Congress since 1997 after succeeding Anthony Beilenson as representative for California’s 32nd district. Born in Los Angeles in 1954 and currently residing in Sherman Oaks, he graduated from UCLA with a BA before earning his JD from Harvard University.
