Congressman Brad Sherman, who has represented California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress since 1997, posted a series of statements on social media in early August addressing national and state political issues.
On August 3, Sherman wrote about his participation in a local event: “Stood with passionate voices at #RageAgainstTheRegime in Studio City, and glad my daughter Molly could join. Together, we sent a clear message: defend democracy, confront extremism, and hold this administration accountable. And I’ll never stop fighting in Congress to help carry https://t.co/qR5GtJH9D8”.
The following day, he commented on actions by Texas authorities: “What Texas is doing, at the instruction of Donald Trump, is outrageous. California must respond. https://t.co/RdpbJ47Mcq” (August 4).
On August 5, Sherman addressed recent developments involving former President Donald Trump and federal employment statistics: “Trump firing the Labor Statistics chief over a bad jobs report is like hurling your bathroom scale out the window because it showed your real weight… The problem isn’t the scale. https://t.co/CKwjqOKddh”.
Sherman has been an active member of Congress for over two decades after succeeding Anthony Beilenson in 1997. Born in Los Angeles in 1954 and currently residing in Sherman Oaks, he holds degrees from UCLA and Harvard University.
