Congressman Brad Sherman, who has represented California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress since 1997, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from veteran communities to immigration enforcement and a tragic shooting in Minneapolis.
On August 26, 2025, Sherman shared his engagement with efforts to support veterans, stating, “We discussed what it will take to turn this campus into a thriving, veteran-led community. 2/2”.
The following day, he expressed condolences for victims of violence in Minnesota: “My heart is with the families and community in Minneapolis after today’s tragic shooting. No words can ease the pain of lives lost and futures stolen.” (August 27, 2025).
Later on August 27, Sherman described witnessing actions by immigration authorities at a public event: “I was there when immigration agents swarmed outside Governor Newsom’s public event earlier this month — armed, visible, and sending a message. This wasn’t security. It was their latest intimidation tactic. ICE has been doing the same across L.A. — aggressively targeting and”.
Sherman is known for his long tenure in Congress after succeeding Anthony Beilenson in 1997. He was born in Los Angeles in 1954 and resides in Sherman Oaks. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a law degree from Harvard University.
