Congressman Brad Sherman, who has been representing California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress since 1997, recently addressed several pressing issues via his social media platform. Sherman, born in Los Angeles in 1954 and currently residing in Sherman Oaks, brings attention to international and domestic matters through his tweets.
On June 6, 2025, Congressman Sherman discussed a meeting with the Pakistan delegation where he highlighted the importance of water resources for Sindh. He emphasized that “the Indus River is the lifeline for tens of millions of Pakistanis, and protecting that water resource is vital.” He also expressed concern over reports of unrest in the city.
In another tweet on the same day, Sherman raised concerns about political repression in Sindh. He noted that “for years, the people of #Sindh have faced political repression through enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.” He referenced Pakistan’s Human Rights Commission documentation of over 8,000 cases of enforced disappearances since its inception in 2011.
Later that day, Sherman criticized actions related to TikTok and financial dealings involving former President Trump. He stated that “this is clearly illegal. The statute allows the president to grant only one 90-day extension,” referring to extensions concerning TikTok’s operations. Additionally, he mentioned that TikTok’s owners announced purchasing $300 million worth of Trump Coin.
Sherman graduated from UCLA with a BA and later earned a JD from Harvard University. His long-standing congressional career began after succeeding Anthony Beilenson in office.
