Congressman Brad Sherman, who represents California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing international human rights concerns and domestic policy issues.

On December 9, 2025, Sherman responded to reports of mass casualties in Sudan by stating: “I am horrified by reports that at least 60,000 #Sudanese have been killed in #ElFasher since the RSF’s takeover of the city several weeks ago, with thousands more unaccounted for. The international community must do all it can to end this senseless slaughter and bring immediate”.

Later that day, he highlighted a new initiative in California aimed at protecting civil rights: “If you believe ICE or another federal agent has violated your civil rights or the rights of another individual, California has launched an online portal to report misconduct. Learn more & report here: https://t.co/2yG26iFA7I https://t.co/0e7YYbSr9Z” (December 9, 2025).

The following day, Sherman addressed the Trump Administration’s handling of National Guard deployments: “The Trump Administration must stop playing political games with our National Guard, follow the law, and return control of the troops to California. The President is not king.” (December 10, 2025).

Brad Sherman has served as a member of Congress since replacing Anthony Beilenson in 1997. Born in Los Angeles in 1954 and currently residing in Sherman Oaks, Sherman graduated from UCLA with a BA before earning his JD from Harvard University.
