Congressman Brad Sherman, who represents California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of critical tweets on February 25, 2026, regarding former President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.

In his first post at 04:08 UTC, Sherman commented on the length and content of Trump’s speech: “Trump had too many lies to fit into only two hours. The longest #SOTU address in recent history. #SOTU26”.

Later that morning at 06:29 UTC, Sherman continued his critique with another tweet: “Trump’s speech tonight was the longest and worst State of the Union Address in our country’s history. #StateOfTheUnion #SOTU”.

At 06:37 UTC, Sherman addressed Trump’s comments on economic conditions during the address: “Donald Trump told us that the economy is “wonderful”and that everything is “affordable”… And if you believe that, then you probably believe he was faithful to all three of his wives. #StateoftheUnion #SOTU”.

Sherman has served in Congress since 1997 after replacing Anthony Beilenson as representative for California’s 32nd district. Born in Los Angeles in 1954 and currently residing in Sherman Oaks, he graduated from UCLA with a BA before earning a JD from Harvard University.
