Congressman Brad Sherman, who has represented California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress since 1997, recently shared updates on his activities and local engagements through a series of posts on social media.
On August 19, 2025, Sherman posted a message celebrating his community: “Happy 818 Day to the entire San Fernando Valley! I’m so proud to call the Valley my home, especially my hometown, Sherman Oaks, the best-named city in America.”
The following day, August 20, he highlighted a meeting with a constituent affected by international conflict: “Today I met with my constituent Anat Benmenahem, aunt of Rom Braslavski, an innocent civilian held hostage in Gaza since #October7 by Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists. She spoke about the heartbreak of seeing him exploited in last month’s horrific propaganda video. Their pain”
On August 21, Sherman acknowledged local civic leadership and discussed national affairs: “Pleased to celebrate the new board of the @StudioCityNC this evening and to talk a bit about what’s happening back in Washington DC. Thanks for having me!”
Sherman was born in Los Angeles in 1954 and currently resides in Sherman Oaks. He succeeded Anthony Beilenson as representative for California’s 32nd district and has served continuously since then. He is an alumnus of UCLA and holds a law degree from Harvard University.
