Congressman Brad Sherman, who represents California’s 32nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on July 23 and 24, 2025, to highlight several foreign policy issues and express concerns about international human rights.
On July 23, Sherman posted that at a House Foreign Affairs hearing he urged the State Department to act regarding the welfare of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan. He wrote: “At today’s @HouseForeign hearing, I once again urged the State Department to direct the acting U.S. Ambassador in Pakistan to visit @ImranKhanPTI in jail to observe his safety and wellbeing.

Later that day, Sherman reported meeting with Sulaiman and Kasim—sons of Imran Khan—in Washington. He stated: “Today, I met Sulaiman and Kasim, the sons of @ImranKhanPTI, in my Washington office.
I am concerned to hear that Khan remains isolated from his family, friends, attorneys, and doctors. His sons also shared that his physical health may be deteriorating.

On July 24, Sherman addressed legislative efforts related to Korea by holding a Congressional briefing with Casey Choi and the Korean American Public Action Committee.
