The California Golden Bears men’s basketball team has announced its nonconference schedule for the 2025-26 season. The slate includes 11 home games at Haas Pavilion and features notable matchups against Kansas State and UCLA.
The Bears will open their third season under head coach Mark Madsen on November 3 with a home game against CSU Bakersfield. Cal won last year’s meeting between the two teams, 86-73. The opening homestand continues with Wright State on November 6, marking the first contest between the programs, followed by CSU Fullerton on November 10. The Titans last played in Berkeley in December 2017, when Cal earned a 95-89 overtime victory.
Cal’s only true road game during nonconference play will be at Kansas State on November 13. The Wildcats lead the all-time series, having won four of five previous meetings. Their most recent matchup was in November 2022 at Haas Pavilion.
The Bears return to the Bay Area for three games as part of the Empire Classic benefitting Wounded Warrior Project, hosted by Gazelle Group. They will face Presbyterian (November 18) and Sacramento State (November 21) at home before playing UCLA in a neutral site game at Chase Center in San Francisco on November 25.
A six-game homestand rounds out the nonconference schedule, starting with Utah on December 2. This marks the programs’ 28th meeting; Utah holds an advantage in their all-time record. Additional home games include Dominican University of California (December 9), Northwestern State (December 13), Morgan State (December 19), and Columbia (December 21). Columbia last faced Cal in Berkeley in 2003.
Game times and broadcast details will be released later. Season tickets are available through CalBears.com/Tickets, by phone at 800-GO-BEARS (462-3277), or via email at goldstandard@berkeley.edu.
