The California men’s tennis team has been recognized for its academic achievements during the 2024-25 season. The team was one of 159 programs named an ITA All-Academic Team, and eight players were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

To qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, a program must have a team GPA of at least 3.2. For individual recognition as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout the academic year.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Cal has received the team accolade. Mikey Wright achieved individual honors for the third year in a row. Alex Aney, Alex Chang, Derrick Chen, and Timofey Stepanov repeated their Scholar-Athlete status. Theo Dean earned his second career honor, while Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski and Ethan Schiffman received the distinction for the first time.

The list of Cal’s ITA Scholar-Athletes includes:
– Alex Aney: Sophomore in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
– Alex Chang: Senior in Political Economy
– Derrick Chen: Senior in Economics
– Theo Dean: Graduate Student in Education
– Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski: Freshman (Undeclared)
– Ethan Schiffman: Sophomore (Undeclared)
