California sophomore Carl Schmidt and senior Ethan Foley have been chosen to participate in the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game. Schmidt, an infielder/outfielder, plays for the Falmouth Commodores and will join the West team. Foley, a right-handed pitcher, represents the Orleans Firebirds on the East roster.
Schmidt has participated in 26 of 28 games for the Commodores this season, achieving a .280 batting average with six doubles, one home run, ten RBIs, and six stolen bases. Meanwhile, Foley boasts a 3-0 record with a 1.10 ERA over nine bullpen appearances for Orleans. He has struck out 24 batters in 16.1 innings pitched.
The All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday at Red Wilson Field and will start at 1:05 p.m. PT. NESN Nation will broadcast the game and pre-game events starting at 10 a.m.
