The California men’s rowing team is preparing to send nine athletes to the U23 World Rowing Championships in Poznan, Poland, from July 23-27. Five of these rowers, Jeremey Beale, Johannes Benien, Nat Gauden, Wilson Morton, and Maximilian Pfautsch, will be making their second consecutive appearance at the championships.
Anger, Benien, and Pfautsch will represent Germany in the men’s eight. Anger previously won bronze in the men’s eight at the 2023 U23 championships. Benien competed in the men’s pair at the 2024 championships and secured a silver medal. Pfautsch has participated in two previous U23 World Championships and won gold in quadruple sculls in 2023.
Beale will compete for Australia in the men’s eight. He was part of the Australian team that won bronze at the 2024 U23 World Championships.
Gagnon is included in the United States’ men’s eight team while Morton will race in the men’s four. Morton has earned silver medals in previous U23 championships.
Gauden will represent Great Britain in the men’s double sculls. He has previously competed in international events such as the 2023 U19 championships where he took silver.
Moreno is set to compete for Spain in the men’s four. His past achievements include winning gold at the 2021 World Rowing Junior Championships.
Waddell will participate for New Zealand’s men’s eight team marking his second appearance at this level of competition.
