Goalkeeper Teagan Wy has been named to the Preseason All-ACC team for the second consecutive year, as selected by the conference’s head coaches. “The 14-player team featured just one keeper spot, giving Wy the nod of being the best at her position heading into the season in what is widely regarded as the top conference in the sport.” Last season, despite missing several games while representing Team USA at the U20 FIFA World Cup where she helped secure a bronze medal, Wy was recognized as Second Team All-ACC.
Wy finished last season ranked among the top ten goalkeepers in ACC statistics, including a .788 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.14 overall. In ACC matches specifically, she was fourth in save percentage (.794), seventh in saves per game (4.50), and eighth in goals against average (1.246). She closed out regular-season play with a record of six wins and three losses.
During key moments last year, Wy made significant contributions such as recording nine saves—including a penalty kick stop—in a close match against No. 3 North Carolina and earning her first shutout of the season versus No. 16 Pitt with five saves. She also played an important role during scoreless minutes against No. 1 Duke before leaving due to injury and registered seven saves against No. 4 Arkansas during NCAA Championship play.

During their inaugural ACC campaign in 2024, Cal faced all four College Cup qualifiers during regular-season play and achieved one win, two losses, and one draw.
Last season marked success for Cal women’s soccer with its first NCAA Championship victory in ten years (https://calbears.com/news/2024/11/15/womens-soccer-bears-win-thriller-in-double-overtime.aspx). The Bears finished with an overall record of 13-6-2 and went 5-4-1 within conference play—both figures representing their highest totals since 2019 (https://calbears.com/sports/womens-soccer/stats). They secured three wins over nationally ranked opponents including road victories over Stanford and Pepperdine (https://calbears.com/news/2024/10/20/womens-soccer-bears-take-down-no-22-pepperdine-on-the-road.aspx), achieved their best home record in fifteen years at Edwards Stadium by going 9-2-1 (https://calbears.com/sports/womens-soccer/stats), tied for seventh place out of seventeen ACC teams, narrowly missed qualifying for the six-team ACC tournament but were chosen for their twenty-eighth NCAA Championship appearance.
Senior Karlie Lema led headlines by being named ACC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ACC after scoring sixteen goals—third-most nationally—for a total of thirty-eight points that tied her for second-most across Division I women’s soccer.
