Three athletes from the California track and field team participated in the European U23 Championships held at Bergen’s Fana Stadium in Norway. The competition took place from Thursday to Sunday.
Lucija Leko, a rising junior from Croatia, reached the final in the women’s discus event. She achieved a throw of 52.32 meters in the qualifier and finished seventh overall with a mark of 52.05 meters. Leko also competed in the women’s shot put, securing sixth place in her qualifying flight with a throw of 14.87 meters.
Audrey Jacobs, a rising senior representing the Netherlands, advanced out of the qualifying round in the women’s hammer throw with a distance of 64.19 meters. She later placed 11th in the final with a throw of 63.65 meters.
Mari Testa, competing for Austria and holding the title of national U23 champion, participated in the women’s 100m hurdles event. She finished just short of advancing to the semifinals with a time of 13.69 seconds in the first round.
