California Department of Food & Agriculture seeks applicants for Feed Inspection Advisory Board

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has announced three open positions on the Feed Inspection Advisory Board (FIAB). The board provides regulatory and enforcement recommendations to CDFA, with the goal of supporting commercial feed inspections that help maintain a safe supply of milk, meat, and eggs.

The vacancies include two seats for commercial feed industry representatives and one seat for a public member. To qualify as an industry representative, applicants must have a valid California Commercial Feed License. Board members serve terms of up to three years. While the roles are unpaid, members may receive reimbursement for necessary travel expenses according to state rules.

Interested candidates are required to submit both a resume and a completed Prospective Member Appointment Questionnaire (PMAQ), which can be found on the CDFA website at http://www.cdfa.ca.gov/is/ffldrs/pdfs/PMAQ_Feed_IAB.pdf. Submissions must be received by January 30, 2026.
