CDFA Deputy Secretary Virginia Jameson recently met with a delegation of Korean government officials from the National Assembly. The group included the Honorable Eoh Kiy-ku, Chair of the Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee. This visit was organized through the Korean Consulate in San Francisco.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss shared agricultural challenges such as climate change, rising input costs, and an aging farming population. These discussions aim to enhance international collaboration and emphasize California’s influence in developing progressive agricultural policies.
South Korea is a significant market for California’s agricultural exports, ranking as the state’s 7th largest ag export market with over $900 million in exports recorded in 2023.
