The California volleyball team has been honored with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 2025 Team Academic Award. This marks the second consecutive year that the team has received this recognition, as announced by the AVCA on Monday.

The Golden Bears first earned this award in 2011 and have now achieved it seven times in total. To qualify for the Team Academic Award, teams must maintain a combined year-long GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

For the upcoming season, Cal will return nine members from its 2024 squad, including four players—Peyton DeJardin, Sophia Johnson, Ashley Li, and Sawyer Thomsen—who received individual All-ACC Academic honors. The 2025 Cal volleyball season is set to start at home on August 29 against San Diego State.
