The California women’s tennis team has been recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team, with seven players named as ITA Scholar-Athletes. The announcement was made by the governing body of college tennis on Monday. The honored athletes include Jessica Alsola, Cami Brown, Berta Passola Folch, Tiziana-Marie Schomburg, Makenna Thiel, Katja Wiersholm, and Naomi Xu.
To qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, a program must achieve a team GPA of 3.2 or higher. For a player to be designated as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, they must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA for the academic year.
In addition to these honors from the ITA, the Bears have received various other awards for their academic achievements during the 2024-25 school year. Several players were named to the All-ACC Academic Team: Alsola, Passola Folch, Xu, Greta Greco Lucchina, Lan Mi and Mao Mushika. The program also won the Golden Bear Team Award for having the highest team GPA at Cal. Alsola received further recognition with titles such as CSC Academic All-American and CSC Academic All-District.

– Naomi Xu – Freshman (Undeclared)
