California Golden Bears volleyball players Peyton DeJardin and Sophia Johnson have been recognized as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees for the 2025-26 season. The announcement was made by the organization on Tuesday.
To qualify for this recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, be at least academic sophomores, and either compete in 90% of their team’s matches or start in at least two-thirds of those matches.
DeJardin, a senior, has now received this honor twice, having also been selected in 2024. During the most recent season, she started in 26 matches and led the team with 265 kills (2.55 kills per set). She achieved a personal best of 21 kills against LSU on September 10 and posted a .533 hitting percentage with 17 kills during California’s ACC opener at Virginia Tech on September 27. DeJardin also recorded four double-doubles over the season, including a performance with 16 kills and 12 digs in the team’s final match at Duke on November 28.
Johnson earned her first Academic All-District selection following her first year as starting libero for the Bears. As a junior, she started all 30 matches and led California with 399 total digs (3.56 digs per set). Johnson had six matches with at least 20 digs in the season, highlighted by a career-high of 26 digs against NC State on November 2. She was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week on September 29 after helping lead victories over Virginia Tech and Virginia while averaging more than five digs per set that week. Additionally, Johnson finished third on the team in both service aces (20) and assists (95).
