Four members of the California men’s gymnastics team were named All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) honorees for their performances at the MPSF Championship, according to an announcement by the conference on Apr. 6. The selection recognizes the top scorer from each team and one at-large athlete in each event.
This recognition highlights individual achievements within collegiate gymnastics and marks a significant accomplishment for both the athletes and their program.
Senior Theodor Roald Gadderud earned all-conference honors on floor, vault, and parallel bars, bringing his career total to seven All-MPSF selections—the most in program history. Gadderud set a new personal best with a floor score of 13.900, matched his career high on vault with a third-place score of 14.200, and contributed to a modern program record total of 53.700 on parallel bars with his score of 13.800. His three honors tied him for the most this season alongside Stanford’s Asher Hong and Air Force’s Jared Fry.
Redshirt senior Jasper Smith-Gordon increased his career All-MPSF total to four after being recognized for pommel horse and vault performances. Smith-Gordon achieved a personal best—and season-best among Bears—on pommel horse with a third-place score of 13.800, while also earning second place overall on vault with a score of 14.250.
Junior Jaxon Mitchell was honored on rings for the second time in his career after scoring 13.350, while fellow junior Carter Kim repeated as all-conference on high bar following his performance that scored 13.100.
The team is awaiting Tuesday’s announcement regarding its potential selection for advancement to the NCAA Championships scheduled for April 17-18 in Champaign, Illinois.
