Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a 19-year-old Isla Vista resident, Levi Crabtree, on charges related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
The investigation started on December 5, 2025, after detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip was based on an Electronic Service Provider report that flagged suspected criminal activity involving online content. Detectives identified Crabtree as a resident of the 800 block of Camino Pescadero in Isla Vista.
On January 8, 2026, law enforcement served both a search warrant and an arrest warrant at Crabtree’s residence. He was taken into custody and booked at the Santa Barbara County Main Jail for violating section 311.1(a) of the California Penal Code, which is classified as a misdemeanor. According to authorities, he was released after posting $10,000 bail.
