California track and field athlete Johnny Goode has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team. This announcement was made on Wednesday, highlighting Goode’s achievements both in academics and athletics.
Goode, who achieved All-America Honorable Mention status in his first year with the Golden Bears, is joined by teammates Caisa-Marie Lindfors and Audrey Jacobs. Lindfors was named to the second team, while Jacobs appeared on the third team of the Women’s Academic All-America lists released earlier.
Eligibility for Academic All-America status requires student-athletes to be academic sophomores or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a top-50 regional ranking in any event, whether indoor or outdoor.
In the 2025 track and field season, Goode broke a long-standing program record in the 400m at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a time of 45.02 seconds. He also set new records for Cal in several indoor events: the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay.
