California sophomore forward Liz Klompmaker has been named to the Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey Team, according to an announcement made by the conference office on Tuesday. She is one of 11 players in the conference to receive this recognition, which was determined by votes from the league’s head coaches.
Klompmaker’s selection follows a notable freshman year. She was honored as the 2024 ACC Freshman of the Year and earned First Team All-ACC status. During that season, she tied for second in the conference with 15 goals and five game-winning goals. She also ranked second in shots on goal with 45 and was fourth in total points at 31, leading her team in all these categories.
She received additional recognition when she was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week on October 29 after scoring two goals each against Louisville and Wake Forest. Her performance against Louisville helped secure California’s first-ever ACC win. Over the course of the season, Klompmaker recorded six games where she scored two goals.
California will begin its regular season at Monmouth on August 29 at 10 a.m. PT.
