Former California men’s basketball center Mady Sissoko has signed a non-drafted free agent contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sissoko will join the reigning NBA champions’ Summer League roster.
The Thunder’s Summer League schedule begins in Salt Lake City, with games on July 5, 7, and 8. The team will then move to Las Vegas for further games on July 10, 12, 15, and 16. This presents an opportunity for Sissoko to extend his time with the team.
Sissoko played one season at California as a graduate student during the 2024-25 season after four years at Michigan State from 2020 to 2024. Originally from Bafoulabe, Mali, he started all 32 games for Cal and achieved career highs in several categories: scoring (8.2 points per game), rebounding (8.2 RPG), blocks (1.1 BPG), and minutes played (27.0 MPG). His field-goal percentage of 65.3% was the second-best single-season mark in Cal’s history.
In the final five games of his collegiate career, Sissoko averaged 13.2 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.
