As part of its ongoing series of roundtable meetings with legislators, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) organized a meeting with Assemblymember Juan Alanis and its small-business-owning members. The event took place at Alanis’s district office in Modesto on July 24.
NFIB policy director Tim Taylor commented on the meeting’s success, saying, “I thought it was extremely successful. The assemblyman was gracious with his time and demonstrated a wide breadth of knowledge on small business issues, retail theft and Prop 36 in particular.”
The discussion lasted over two hours, covering topics such as retail theft, minimum wage, LCSF and gas prices, workplace violence prevention plans, supply chain issues, PAGA, and specific business challenges faced by NFIB members.
Taylor also praised the assemblyman’s staff for being accommodating and sharp during the event. “The event was a great success,” he added.
