The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a series of advertisements recognizing four California representatives for their support of small businesses. Representatives David Valadao, Kevin Kiley, Young Kim, and Ken Calvert are being acknowledged for their efforts in Congress to make the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent.
NFIB’s campaign includes radio and digital ads targeting California’s 22nd District and digital ads in the 3rd, 40th, and 41st Districts. This initiative is part of NFIB’s ongoing advocacy to ensure the permanence of the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction.
The advertisements feature NFIB members discussing how the tax deduction has enabled them to expand and invest in their businesses. They also highlight potential negative impacts if Congress does not act to secure this tax provision.
“Over the last seven years, the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction has helped America’s small businesses grow and hire,” stated NFIB California State Director John Kabateck. He emphasized that Representatives Valadao, Kiley, Kim, and Calvert have been pivotal in advocating for this cause. “With Congress currently considering sweeping tax legislation, we are hopeful that lawmakers act quickly and protect America’s small businesses from a massive tax increase.”
The Small Business Tax Deduction was introduced as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It allows small business owners to deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income, aiming to create parity between small enterprises and large corporations.
