The City of Paso Robles announced on May 5 that it will hold a Special City Council Meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:00 p.m. in the Norris Room at Centennial Park to review the city’s proposed first official Vision Statement, Strategic Work Plan, staff recommendations, and key outcomes from its recent visioning and goals-setting process.

The upcoming meeting is intended to guide strategic decisions for the city by establishing a foundation through its new Vision Statement: “We envision a welcoming and thriving community with a diverse economy and quality jobs that empower every generation to build their future here in Paso Robles.” When adopted, this statement will shape organizational culture and align efforts across all departments in support of long-term community goals.

According to the announcement, the proposed Strategic Work Plan has been designed as a comprehensive roadmap that consolidates goals and initiatives developed by staff. It draws from recommendations found in City Master Plans, departmental strategic plans, and prior project studies. The plan aims to guide implementation of City Council priorities, track progress, strengthen coordination across departments, and help align daily operations during the FY 2026–2028 budget cycle.

Public participation is encouraged so that city priorities reflect both community needs and council direction while remaining practical. The framework will continue to be refined with input from both the council members and residents before being finalized for adoption at a later date.

More information can be found on the City of Paso Robles website or by attending the meeting scheduled for May 6.
