California field hockey alumna Renee Chatas, who graduated in 1983, has been inducted into the 2026 USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame. The announcement was made by the sport’s national governing body. Chatas was recognized as an official and is only the second official to receive this honor.

Her career includes being named an All-American at California, playing for the U.S. National Team, and officiating at both the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. During her time at Cal, Chatas scored 34 goals, ranking seventh on the program’s all-time list, and accumulated 79 points, which puts her eighth in school history.

“Chatas was inducted as an official and joins six others that were part of this year’s class and became just the second official to be inducted into the hall of fame.”
