Rep. Norma Torres, who represents California’s 35th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on her official social media account addressing issues ranging from healthcare policy to antisemitism and the ongoing release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

On December 11, 2025, Torres commented on recent legislative actions regarding healthcare insurance prices: “Today, Republicans were given another opportunity to stop healthcare insurance prices from increasing. They chose not to. Let that sink in.”

Two days later, on December 13, she addressed the release of new photographs connected to Jeffrey Epstein and their implications for public figures: “The newly released photos are deeply disturbing and show just how closely Epstein kept himself tied to powerful men, Donald Trump included. The DOJ’s deadline to release the files is now one week away.”

On December 14, following an antisemitic attack in Australia, Torres expressed support for affected communities and emphasized solidarity against hate: “The antisemitic attack in Australia is heartbreaking. My thoughts are with the victims and Jewish communities around the world.

As families begin Hanukkah, they deserve to celebrate in safety and peace. We must stand together against hate and antisemitism.”

Torres has served as a member of Congress since 2015 after succeeding Gloria Negrete McLeod. She previously held positions in both the California State Assembly (2008-2013) and Senate (2013-2014). Born in Escuintla, Guatemala in 1965, Torres resides in Pomona and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from National Labor College.
