She conveyed her sympathy by stating “I’m heartbroken by the violent attack in Boulder that left eight people injured during a peaceful gathering.” The congresswoman emphasized the importance of safety for those participating in solidarity or remembrance events.
Later that day, she mourned the loss of Officer Samuel Riveros from Baldwin Park PD. In her message posted at 15:53 UTC, she wrote “Devastated by the tragic loss of Officer Samuel Riveros, a young public servant who gave his life in the line of duty.” She extended condolences to his family and colleagues while also mentioning Officer Pimentel and others affected by this tragedy.
On June 3, Rep. Torres voiced her concern regarding the closure of Inland Empire Job Corps centers and similar facilities nationwide.
