Rep. Norma Torres, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 35th district, addressed housing affordability, economic development challenges, and constituent services in a series of posts on August 4, 2025.
In her first post of the day, Torres highlighted concerns about the rising cost of housing for working families: “Too many working families in our communities are being priced out of housing. I brought together local leaders, lenders, and housing experts to talk solutions and make sure the federal government is part of the solution.” (August 4, 2025)
Later that afternoon, she reported meeting with members of NAIOP Inland Empire to discuss regional economic issues: “I met with @NAIOPIE to talk jobs, infrastructure, and how rising tariffs are squeezing local development. Our region can’t afford policies that drive up costs and slow down growth.” (August 4, 2025)
Torres also informed constituents about a free service offered by her office: “Need a passport photo? We’ve got you covered! Our office offers FREE passport photos—just one of the many ways we’re here to serve #CA35. Reach out to schedule yours!” (August 4, 2025)
Torres has represented California’s 35th District in Congress since 2015 after previously serving in both chambers of the California State Legislature. Born in Escuintla, Guatemala in 1965 and currently residing in Pomona at age 58, Torres holds a BA from National Labor College.
