Rep. Norma Torres, who represents California’s 35th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted recent community events and acknowledged local achievements in a series of social media posts on August 20, 2025.
In her first post, Torres expressed appreciation for her office interns: “A big thank you to our incredible district office interns as they wrap up their time with Team Torres! From helping constituents to supporting community events, your dedication made a real difference in CA-35. We’re proud of you!” (August 20, 2025).
Later that day, she marked the opening of a new financial institution branch in Chino: “Exciting day in Chino! We joined Orange County’s Credit Union, local leaders, and the Chino Valley Chamber to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of their newest branch. A big win for our community and a great step toward expanding access to financial services!” (August 20, 2025).
In another post early that morning, Torres attended an event recognizing local Scouts: “It was a privilege to join Troop 2017 and celebrate the outstanding Scouts who were promoted! Your dedication, leadership, and service are a shining example for our community. Congratulations on this incredible milestone!” (August 20, 2025).
Norma Torres has served as the U.S. Representative for California’s 35th District since 2015 after succeeding Gloria Negrete McLeod. She previously held positions in both the California State Assembly from 2008 to 2013 and the California Senate from 2013 to 2014. Born in Escuintla, Guatemala in 1965 and currently residing in Pomona at age 58, Torres holds a BA from National Labor College.
