The San José Animal Care and Services Center announced on May 6 that it will hold a community forum for residents to engage with shelter staff, receive updates on animal care services and programs, and help shape the center’s future priorities. The event will take place at the San José Animal Care Center located at 2750 Monterey Road, with doors opening at 5 p.m.

This meeting marks the first in a planned series of forums intended to increase transparency and foster communication between the public and shelter leadership. Attendees will have opportunities to interact directly with Monica Wylie, Deputy Director of ACS, and Captain Jayson Jenkins, Field Operations Supervisor.

The City of San Jose aims to deliver quality public services and foster a safe, vibrant community for its residents, businesses and visitors, according to the official mission page. The city is led by a mayor elected at large along with an eleven-member council representing specific districts as outlined in its official charter page.

The City of San Jose serves the Santa Clara Valley area, encompassing various neighborhoods and historical districts. It also promotes cultural diversity through initiatives like the Japanese Friendship Garden and maintains sites such as the San Jose Historical Museum in Kelley Park featuring relocated buildings and collections. Unique historical replicas like statehouse reconstructions from 1899 and 1949 further contribute to local heritage enrichment efforts—all detailed on its historical context page.

Community members are encouraged to visit the ACS events calendar for more information about upcoming forums or submit questions using an online form ahead of time.
