Sheriff’s detectives have provided new information about a fraud investigation involving Jonathan Tudor, 64, of West Hollywood. Tudor is accused of pretending to be a senior executive at BMW and targeting victims through fraudulent luxury vehicle sales and investment schemes.

After the initial press release on July 29, 2025, investigators received reports from community members with similar experiences. Detectives have now identified 33 additional victims linked to Tudor. The cases date back to 2023 and involve individuals in New York, Washington, and various locations across California. This brings the total number of known victims to 38.

In addition to the vehicle sales scheme, detectives discovered that Tudor promoted vague investment opportunities. He allegedly promised investors double their money but only paid out smaller investments, likely using funds from new victims. Larger sums were not returned, resulting in significant financial losses for those involved.

Tudor is currently being held at the Santa Barbara County Main Jail.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who may have been a victim of fraud by Jonathan Tudor to contact Detective Kiesow at (805) 681-4150. Anonymous tips can be submitted online at www.sbsheriff.org/home/anonymous-tip or by calling (805) 681-4171.
