Seventeen student-athletes from the California women’s water polo team have been recognized with ACWPC All-Academic awards, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
Departing seniors Rozanne Voorvelt, Ruby Swadling, and Jessie Rose received the honor for the fourth time. Voorvelt and Swadling were noted for outstanding recognition each year.
The ACWPC awards are categorized based on cumulative GPA: outstanding recognition is given to those with a GPA of 3.71 or higher; superior status is awarded to GPAs between 3.41 and 3.7; excellent recognition goes to those with a GPA from 3.2 to 3.4.
Elena Flynn and Claire Rowell, who recently graduated, along with rising senior Abbi Magee, earned their third ACWPC All-Academic award. Feline Voordouw, Kate Meyer, Nieve Courtney, Talia Fonseca, Julia Bonaguidi, and Lindsey Harris became two-time honorees.
First-time recipients of the academic accolade include Eszter Varro, Mackenzie Walker, Miriam Bogachenko, Julianne Snyder, and Abby Roder.
Voorvelt’s academic achievements also include becoming just the second College Sports Communicators Academic All-American in program history last week. She is also a three-time MPSF All-Academic selection.
