For the second time in two weeks, Frank Mottek of the Mottek on Money show on KABC Radio in Los Angeles consulted with NFIB regarding the Small Business Deduction, a key issue in Congress. The discussion followed the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by the U.S. House on May 22, which includes this deduction.

NFIB Vice President Jeff Brabant was interviewed by Mottek both when the bill passed and again on June 3 to discuss its prospects in the U.S. Senate. Brabant expressed support for the legislation from a small business standpoint, stating, “I think it’s one of the better bills in recent history for small businesses.”

Brabant highlighted that making the Small Business Deduction permanent would alleviate concerns among small business owners who are uncertain about potential tax increases next year. He noted that uncertainty has been a growing issue for these business owners.

The interview with Brabant is available for listening online.

Additional related interviews include discussions held on May 27 and May 21 about the bill’s passage, as well as previous statements from NFIB representatives dating back to April and March regarding support and benefits of a 20% Small Business Tax Deduction.
