Jashanpreet Singh, 27, of Lodi, pleaded guilty to unlawfully dealing firearms and possessing a machine gun, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
Court documents state that Singh founded the “Punjabi Devils” Motorcycle Club, a Stockton-based outlaw motorcycle gang associated with the Hells Angels. On June 6, 2025, Singh attempted to sell multiple weapons to an undercover officer. The items included a short-barreled rifle, three assault weapons, three machine gun conversion devices, and a revolver. A search of his residence led to the discovery of more firearms, such as a machine gun, another machine gun conversion device, and a silencer.
Authorities seized various firearms (including machine guns and a short-barreled rifle), firearm parts (such as a silencer and high-capacity drum magazines), and other items from Singh’s vehicle and home on June 6, 2025.
Officers also found a single “pineapple”-style capped and fused hand grenade along with what law enforcement identified as a military electronic capped “claymore” mine. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department bomb team destroyed these explosive devices at the scene.
Singh initially faced related state charges in San Joaquin County but failed to appear in court on July 21, 2025. As a result, the court issued a bench warrant for his arrest. Two days later, the FBI was alerted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that Singh had booked travel to India departing from San Francisco International Airport on July 26, 2025. Officers arrested him at the airport before he could leave the country. He remains in federal custody.
The investigation involved several agencies: the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Drug Enforcement Administration; Enforcement and Removal Operations; Homeland Security Investigations; San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office; San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordinance Detail; Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit; Stockton Police Department; and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alex Cárdenas and Adrian Kinsella are prosecuting the case.
Singh is scheduled for sentencing on May 11, 2026 before U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd. He faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for unlawfully dealing in firearms and up to ten years in prison plus another $250,000 fine for unlawfully possessing a machine gun. The actual sentence will be determined by the court based on statutory factors and federal Sentencing Guidelines.
According to officials, this case is part of Operation Take Back America—a nationwide effort led by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration as well as dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime.
