Data showed the average age for women in California in 2021 was 38 years, lower than the national average of 40 for women. Meanwhile, California's male population stands at an average age of 36 years, placing them lower than the US average of 38.

According to census data, despite women being more prevalent in California during 2021, men aged 18 and over outnumbered women in the same age group by 326,974, totaling 12,560,008 individuals. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 2,549,526 men and 3,120,353 women.
