Lompoc, Calif. – A male and a female suspect have been apprehended by authorities for viciously assaulting two individuals within their residence. The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in the 4000-block of Capella Drive in Lompoc.
According to reports, the suspects identified as 21-year-old Clyde Richardson and 23-year-old Devon Leininger, both residents of Lompoc, forcibly entered the victims' home after knocking on the door. The assailants, who were acquainted with the victims, proceeded to physically attack them, with Richardson even brandishing a handgun during the altercation. Sheriff's deputies stated that the male victim was threatened and struck in the head with the firearm. Prior to fleeing the scene, the suspects also vandalized the victims' vehicles by slashing the tires.
Following the incident, law enforcement agencies were alerted, leading to the apprehension of the suspects by a California Highway Patrol officer on Central Avenue at D Street. Richardson was found in possession of a loaded firearm at the time of the arrest.
Clyde Richardson faces multiple charges including residential burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and various firearm-related offenses. Meanwhile, Devon Leininger has been charged with residential burglary, assault causing great bodily injury, and other related offenses. Both suspects are currently in custody without bail.
In a statement, the Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the California Highway Patrol for their collaboration in capturing the suspects.
