The UC Davis football team has been preparing diligently at its fall training camp for the past month and will officially commence the regular season with an away game at UC Berkeley on Saturday, August 31.
“We’ve continued to grow as a team and we are getting closer each day to finding out the type of team we are entering the season,” said head coach Tim Plough ’07, who is beginning his first season in this role.
The Aggies will host six regular-season home games at UC Davis Health Stadium, featuring various themes and additional attractions:
- Saturday, Sept. 7 — 7 p.m. kickoff vs Texas A&M-Commerce (Salute to Ag, featuring discounted tickets courtesy of The CLEAR Center)
- Saturday, Sept. 21 — 7 p.m. kickoff vs Utah Tech (Back To School Day)
- Saturday, Sept. 28 — 7 p.m. kickoff vs University of Idaho (First Year Field Storm and celebration of Chicanx & Latinx Heritage Month)
- Saturday, Oct. 12 — 4 p.m. kickoff vs Cal Poly (Homecoming, Jr. Aggiette Clinic and Battle For The Golden Horseshoe)
- Saturday, Nov. 2 — 1 p.m. kickoff vs University of Northern Colorado (Faculty and Staff Appreciation, Parent and Family Weekend and High School Band Day)
- Saturday, Nov. 16 — 5 p.m. kickoff vs Montana State (Senior Day)
Season tickets, group tickets, two- or three-game “mini plans” and individual tickets are available online or by contacting the Aggie Ticket Office at 530-752-2471 or via email.
Attendees will notice new seating options this season in the Team Aggie sections (121-123) of UC Davis Health Stadium as well as new bartop seating in section 126.
Returning to home games this season will be Cori, a Labrador retriever owned by Veterinary Medicine Professor Lisa Tell ’87, DVM ’91. Cori is scheduled to retrieve kickoff tees at every home game except the September 21 matchup; she performed similar duties for baseball games previously.
Faculty, staff and students can purchase parking through AggiePark and the Amp Park app on game day while visitors can secure discounted parking ahead of time on the Transportation Services website.
The CLEAR Center is sponsoring the September 7 matchup between UC Davis and Texas A&M-Commerce in UC Davis’ first Salute to Ag football game which honors farmers, ranchers, workers and allied industry members.
“What a great night it will be when we sponsor the Aggies’ first home game," said Frank Mitloehner from The CLEAR Center. "Farming and ranching in California are among the best in the United States if not the world."
