The California Department of Justice is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting in Los Angeles, as announced by Attorney General Rob Bonta. This investigation is being conducted under the guidelines of Assembly Bill 1506 (AB 1506). The incident occurred on March 14, 2025, at around 10:00 p.m., involving officers from the Los Angeles Police Department and resulting in one fatality.

The DOJ's California Police Shooting Investigation Team has commenced its inquiry following notification from local authorities. Once their investigation is complete, the findings will be submitted to the DOJ’s Special Prosecutions Section within the Criminal Law Division for independent review.
