Ten student-athletes from the California Golden Bears men’s gymnastics team have been named Academic All-Americans by the College Gymnastics Association for their academic achievements during the 2025 season.
Graduates Tyler Shimizu and Aidan Li were both recognized as First-Team members, each earning their fourth career Academic All-America honors. According to the announcement, “Shimizu was named to the First Team for the third year in a row, while Li earned his way onto the squad for the second straight season.”
Other First-Team selections include sophomore Matteo Bardana, junior Tucker Yasunaga, and seniors Theodor Roald Gadderud and Jasper Smith-Gordon. Smith-Gordon received First-Team honors for a second consecutive year. Both Roald Gadderud and Yasunaga advanced from Second-Team status in 2024 to First-Team this year.
Senior Khalen Curry led Cal’s Second-Team honorees, receiving his second career Academic All-America recognition. He is joined on the Second Team by junior Carter Kim and sophomores Trigg Dudley and Troy Nuesca.
