Three arrested after alleged fragrance theft at Goleta beauty store

Sheriff’s deputies in Goleta arrested three individuals on September 5, 2025, following a reported theft at Ulta Beauty in the Camino Real Marketplace. The suspects allegedly fled the store with stolen cologne and perfume valued at approximately $1,900.

According to authorities, deputies received information about the suspects leaving the scene in a red sedan headed toward Highway 101 southbound. Law enforcement located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near the Castillo Street off-ramp. Deputies noted a strong scent of cologne emanating from inside the car during their approach. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of the stolen merchandise.

All three occupants were taken into custody without incident and booked for felony organized retail theft. Rigoberto Aguirre Andrade, 33, from Santa Clara, is also being held on two out-of-county warrants related to theft crimes with bail set at $325,000. Miguel Tinoco Hernandez, 32, from Santa Barbara, faces an additional misdemeanor charge for providing false information to an officer and has bail set at $200,000. Jose Encarnacion Reyes, 37, from San Jose, was also charged with providing false information to an officer and has three out-of-county warrants for theft-related charges; his bail is set at $310,000.
