The Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) at UC Davis will be closed on the mornings of August 19, 21, and 22 to allow for a joint training exercise. The exercise is organized by the UC Davis and city of Davis police and fire departments to practice response and coordination during an active shooter scenario.

During these drills, people in the area can expect loud noises such as simulated gunshots. Police and fire vehicles will be present in Lot 25 and in loading areas behind the ARC, leading to limited parking availability near the center.

Preparation for the training will start around 7 a.m., with the ARC scheduled to reopen for regular activities by 1 p.m. each day.
